hey all, i know it is kind of early to actually compare these two drama based on what u guys liked more because the correct comparison can only be done once qaid-e-tanhai finishes. but since everyone is already noticing the similarities and stuff…i just thought we should discuss some stuff.
honestly it’s only the 4th episode and i am already liking it more than MZZBN, mainly because of two characters, and those are noor, and farhan. i hated sarwat gillani, and imran abbas as sara and haidar. their acting and their role was a bit supporting kind, nothing major the whole story revolved around arfeen, and saba so sara and haidar weren’t a really big part. but in qaid e tanhai, bohat noor and farhan are actually the best thing about that drama. bohat mueez, and ayesha are in their silent stage right now, they aren’t expressing much, and at that time the kind of intensive acting that is being done by noor and farhaan is makign this drama alive.
so what do u guys think? which one would u guys like over another? and why?
I agree.... I think in MZZBN they gave away the whole story in their OST. but here.... its still not clear what really happened, and what will happen in the story. so u get glued to the story. this one is better managed and the cast is outstanding. in MZZBN beside sarwat everything was fine.
but for sure both of them are focusing on norms of our dark society. so love them both at the end of the day.
Yep, I agree. I am definitely liking this more than MZZBN, that was quite depressing, and surprisingly I don't think the story of Qaid-e-tanhai is too sad or would make you cry, it is on the darker side, but a little toned down imho. I am just hoping that the MIL would let Sawera go to UK with Faisal! :-\
i don't know why everyone is so against sarwat gillani; i think she did a fine job in MZZBN.
Hard to compare both dramas just yet; QET may end up being a stinker as the drama goes along. For me, MZZBN right now is the cream of Pakistani drama crop.
you are so right sweetNsour. some of my friends even ask me if qaid e tanhai is depressing, but i told them that's it's not something that will make you cry or anything. there is a lot of anger and rage, but nothing that will make you cringe.
i actually stopped watching MZZBN in the middle when saba was beaten up and stuff. it was too much for me, even though i had read the novel and i knew what will happen but it was still not bearable for me. and death usually does bring up a lot of sadness, thank god no one is dead in this drama. as long as characters are alive, all sort of good things can happen to them.
and ayesha's saas will let her go because the song gives that away.
another reason why i would choose qaid-e-tanhai over MZZBN is because when i was watching MZZBN i already knew the story, i had read the novel before. so i knew the climax and all that. but with qaid-e-tanhai everything is fresh and new. i am sorta enjoying the suspense too...i knew people are complaining that it's dragging, but i don't mind.
and yes, saba's character was strong in MZZBN, but so is noor's character in this drama. both of these dramas had their strong characters.
I am not a fan of Baber Javed so I personally think he actually harms Umera's scripts rather than do them justice. Thankfully he has strong actors and a strong script to support his below average directing. I think both of these scripts should have been directed by someone else who wasn't heavy on melodrama. I watched MZZB for Samia's acting. After she was out, I stopped watching it. I am watching QET for it's dialogues and Noor's acting. Farhan is also good as he brings some normalcy to the whole household of wackos lol.
I too had stopped watching MZZB after a few episodes. It was too melodramatic for my taste plus I must be the only crazy one who doesnt like Samias acting. She cute but has a very flat affect, and didn't really capture my attention. Sarwat Gillani is also a bit irritating.
I'm liking QET sans sawera nadeem's sunken hollow eyes.
