i have heard from ahmadis/qadianis/mirzais that they are the fastest growing sect in the world.
i doubt this very seriously b/c i myself know of many ahmadis who quit ahmadiyyat.
yet i dont know of a single non-ahmadi who became ahmadi personally.
ofcourse, such a person, is a murtid, and command is to kill that person.
i need to know the total population of this sect due to some research i am doing. can anyone point me to the right direction? even the successive qadiani khalifas give different numbers.
i know ahmadis r preaching furiously and places like africa and israel. and some people become ahmadis thinking they’ve become Muslim. (i believe this to be treacherous just for the record).
the point is, ahmadis have a scrupulous record keeping system (the bait thing) so it should be very easy for the ahmadi khalifa office to count total numbers. why rnt these numbers ever released by the way?
also, ive heard lahori jamat completely flopped and only few hundred members globally. but i dont know for sure. hmmm.

You are saying that there is a command' to kill people who convert and become Ahmadi ?? I am sure Islam is not that barbaric - please provide proof..
they once claimed 220 million in Qadianistan, don't know where that is on the map...
then they claimed only 200million
then 70 million
and now in the tens of million, so yeah their claims might be right NOW.
qadianistan is 2 blocs down from ummah's khilafah ;)
regardless of what different ahmedi souces say their numbers are, the question amidst a lot of opinion was sources to get numbers, so providing sources may be helpful to the original poster. regardless of how crass the approach may have been.

Let's please correct the facts. Some years ago, someone who was qadiani proposed for me and my sister (they were two brothers). We had been friends but it was news to us that they are ahmadis. At that time i did not know who ahmadis are much. Thus i had done some research on who they are cause i did not know much, bas suna hua tha un ke baray mayn. For that i had also sent PM's to some people who seemed ahmadi on gupshup. In meanwhile those 2 brothers and us 2 sisters got to know each other better and hamari baat aik tarha se pakki bhi ho gai thi. But obviously after finding the truth (and it was sad because they had hidden and lied about LOT of things about their true beliefs from us!) we were appalled and said NO WAY. That was a story done and over with time ago. My sister is already married now to someone else and I am also engaged to be married later this year :)
I am still surprised those people had the guts to approach us! And lie to us too... I still don't know why ahmadis don't openly tell people their true beliefs. Itna chupatay kyu hen.

Muslims don't take bait so its not possible to count Muslim population. Ahmadis take bait, and they REGISTER all members. So it's very possible to find out total ahmadi population. they maintain scrupulous records as i said.
it may sound harsh to you but we are Muslims and we need to Obey Allah's Orders. The punishment for a Murtid in Islam is Death. No less.
For theft it is cutting of hands.
For murder it is murder.
And we don't need to compare with other religions.
waleed, try google, it will give you lots of information. i have also gained lot of info. their official website is alislam.org. basically they r a sect of people who claim to be Muslim but do not believe in finality of Prophethood like other Muslims. They have their own last Prophet (a person named Mirza Ghulam who was born in Qadian, India more than 100 years ago). Qadianis say he was just a "reformer prophet" and did not bring new "shariah" - Islamic rule of law. But if you read his writings (which qadianis try to keep revising and releasing updated editions ommitting the inflammatory portions), he claims he was Nauzubillah higher in rank even than Hazrat Mohammad (saw) Nauzubillah. Other places he claims to be son of God. And Krishna and what not. He also made many "prophecies" majority of which turned out to be false. Qadianis will never openly tell you the complete details about what Mirza has actually claimed and said because if people find out they will openly reject them. Therefore to find out truth about Qadiani/Mirza you have to do a lot of independent research.
Basically, other Muslims consider ahmadis to be kafir due to such beliefs of theirs about finality of Prophethood.
goodnews - are you serious? i dont have much exposure to the peers. but that is also next on my research. i am starting with qadianis and ismailis. i know people hold peers in high regard but sajda is ummmm not good. basically giving TOO much respect to any person and obeying his orders blindly is shirk.

please read my reply to Popat above. as i said, any Muslim who becomes an ahmadi is a Murtid and command is to kill that person.

for the record - i believe that anyone who says he or she is Muslim is a Muslim and only Allah can judge. so none of my business or no one else's business.
however, just looking at the qadiani beliefs, they seem to be in contradiction to core Islamic beliefs.
so, to socially provide guidance to our children and other Muslims, we must tell them clearly what we think so in future they do not get under any false impressions.
for example, my parents are mixed. mom is shia and dad is sunni. sis chose to be shia, i chose to be sunni. but we consider OK to marry in our famil to shia or sunni. we do not consider OK to marry ahmadi.
