KARACHI, Oct 3: South African Richard Pybus is scheduled to arrive in Lahore on Monday to
take over the charge of assistant coach of the Pakistan cricket team.
According to insiders in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Pybus is reaching Lahore after
being given the green-signal by his provincial side Border.
Pybus, who was Mushtaq Mohammad's assistant in the World Cup, will travel to Sharjah in
the same capacity before replacing Wasim Raja as coach on the tour Down Under.
Insiders said Pybus was scheduled to meet PCB ad hoc committee chairman
Mujeeb-ur-Rehman on Tuesday.
Who the hell is Pybus, and please dont say he is a British guy from South Africa. I want to know what are his acheivements to date. Why do we need him. If we are going to have a foreign coach than it should be someone who is outstanding like Woolmer. Otherwise bring on Miandad. Really having Pybus is the height of desperation. He might have a very good rapport with Akram but that is only because he is prepared to be subservient to Akram's wishes. The world cup was a perfect example of it when both Mushtaq and Pybus was nowhere to be seen during the matches.
Pybus is a great coach and its only paki media and some other pagals who do not know his capabilities. Ian Chappel during the world cup described how pybus had a huge influence on paki team.
Pybus may not be a player himeself but according to akram uses latest new technologies in developing players and has good stretigic approach to the game. The coach doesn't have to be a flippin good player himself.
