what can and will u do? Would you give up your religion and morals? Would you go against parents? Its a sad story, but a friend of my dad’s has a daughter. They are a good muslim family, from what i know, they come to the musjid, etc. The daughter ran away with a hindu. Its not just this story, but what are people willing to do, or not do?

know what i'll do? :) absolutely nothing! hurting ur parents is in no way comparison to some dude u'll elope with only to regret it later. and trust me...u will regret it later! the sparkle and pride i see in my parents eyes for me is something i wouldn't wanna lose for anything in this world.
As for religion, it allows one to marry someone of their choice, (within limits of course...ur friend crossed those limits obviously). But hey, if u like someone, having ur parents consent (as well) is the best option.
Hehe...I'll see when the "ghari of azmaaish" will come. But one thing: NO COMPROMISE ON RELIGION.
