Putting your parents in a retirement home

How many of you would be ok with putting your parents in a retirement home? How many of you with kids would be ok with being put in one yourself?

I would die before my mum goes in to any "home" and I would never want my kids to abandon me to live in a crap retirement home.

Although we have discussed this topic to death, I will say it again ..

I will not put my parents to one but I want to stay in one with my wife, if situation becomes so
