Re: PUTTING MOM ON A DIET
I really need some help from anyone who can. My mom is seriously overweight and it has started having some adverse repercussions on her health. I am getting very worried about her and am trying to help her to lose weight, which she is willing to do.
The only thing is, she has been born and bread on roti and finds it very difficult to eat the steamed vegetable 'garbage' that I try and serve up.
I can sympathise with her, as rich desi food is all she has ever eaten and at her age (52) she's finding it difficult to alter the taste of her palete.
Can anyone provide recipes for healthy food with a desi twist that might be a good way to start weaning her onto a healthier diet? Any ideas will be appreciated
Thanks!
small changes.. cook with olive oil (start with pomace and then gradually work ur way up to extra virgin), and gradually replace whtie atta with whole wheat :)
