Re: Putting a makeup kit together
ooo and for people just getting into makeup!
Re: Putting a makeup kit together
The naked palette, a liquid or powder hilighter, a good eye pencil or usually Urban decay has eyepencil kit with a black and brown, a good eyeliner, foundation, concealer or even better a concealer color correcting palette, a blush bronzer duo. A gloss set or a go to gloss, a red, pink and nude lipstick. I forgot a good eye and face primer along with a brush set
Re: Putting a makeup kit together
I made a list !
1) Concealer- a must. Maybelline and loreal make good ones for coverage. Bourjois is lighter in coverage but feels nice on the skin
2) Eye liner- waterproof either kohl if not used to makeup or liquid in the form of a marker
3) Mascara-Maybelline makes really good ones
4) Lipstick/Lipgloss/lip tint- Lip tints stay the longest, Lip glosses are really nice and easy to apply, cream lipglosses like nyx stay put for long as well.
5) Blush- Any colour that suits your skin tone with a slight shimmer loreal makes good ones
Everything else like eyeshadow/highlighter/foundation/contor i don't think is needed unless its a special occasion plus i haven't really tried any of them to recommend :S
Re: Putting a makeup kit together

Re: Putting a makeup kit together
If I was going to put together a makeup kit for a beginner, here is how I would go about it:
Face – A good primer, foundation, concealer, tinted moisturizer (for “no makeup” days), a blush and bronzer duo and a loose translucent setting powder.

Eyes – The Naked2 and Naked3 palettes, gel eye liner (in black), 2 eye pencils (one black and one brown), 2 brow pencils/brow fillers (one lighter shade and one darker shade) and a good mascara (in black).

Lips – 3 lipsticks (one nude, one pink and one in a bold colour), 3 lip glosses (one nude, one peachy pink and one in a bold colour), and clear lip gloss.

These are items and/or shades that have worked well for me. Of course, different people will have different experiences and/or preferences but overall, these are the basics I would include in a makeup kit. ![]()
Re: Putting a makeup kit together
I wish this thread existed before I got married. I bought an eyeshadow kit and different lipsticks, as well as a make up brush set. I use those things all the time - all the other stuff I bought (gel eyeliner, lipglosses, highlighter, face primer) I hardly ever use. For eyeliner I use a liquid brush, and for face primer, I just use a face lotion… ![]()
The NAKED eyeshadow kits look popular - are they really that good?
Re: Putting a makeup kit together
Okie dokie you go ahead
it’s fine you can list names of products along with brand names or post pictures whichever is easier for you
Awwww I know that’s why I thought this thread might benefit some brides to be. You can use the rest on eid, parties, weddings etc. I have the first naked pallette. I think the reason why everyone is in awe is because it consists of so many wearable colours.
Re: Putting a makeup kit together
Nice thread!
How about pictures of vanity cases too? Would be very pretty for new brides to take along with them :)
Re: Putting a makeup kit together
^Yes! That as well
Re: Putting a makeup kit together
I bought eye shadow kit.
Liquid foundation(bourjios)
Matte press powder( rimmel)
Lipsticks in nude and peach
Lip gloss in nude and pink.
Blush on
And rest of things came from inlaws makeup kit.
But I hardly use them I only use foundation and press powder and kajal.
Do those things get expire in one year?
Re: Putting a makeup kit together
I have a friend that's getting married and we usually give (smallish) gifts at the mehndi in addition to the actual wedding. Do you guys think a makeup kit (items such as those mentioned above) and a set of brushes in a pretty vanity case would make a good present for someone getting married?

I think that would make a very nice gift, especially if you already have an idea of what makeup products she's missing and needs/wants...as well as what colors she likes.
Re: Putting a makeup kit together
Mezhgan I think that's a lovely idea!
