We are not supposed to have surname like men use after singh, for women, we are born kaur and die kaur, we are special creature hence not needed to use surname of either father or husband:),the literal meaning of kaur is princess:)

i am not sure if it is true. ofcourse you know more than me but all my female sikh friends adopted their husband’s family name.
also what about prinka chopara etc
