agree with the keeping your eggs in different baskets but I have a slightly different approach on it although overall I am in favor of more and more relationship and warmer relationships with the Russia because there is no reason why not to have it that way.
one of the things that I read a lot over last few years is that too Pakistan should try to by military hardware from Russia in my opinion that might not be the best of ideas specially in terms of buying hardware for the Air Force of Pakistan especially buying fighter jets at cetera reason being the india n Indian Air Force and Indian military has being very old customer of russian hardware. they are very well aware of its capabilities and its weaknesses. for example about a decade ago then India vs accepting tenders for their MRCA program us submitted f 16 AZ one of the contenders Indians made the right decision to not to go for F 16 because f 16 is the plan that Pakistan has been using for a long time and Pakistan has a very good idea about its weaknesses and its strength they know how to defeat an f-16 very evil because they have had a very very strong deep experience with flying operating F 16 so eventually they went for a fighter from France because Pakistan does not know too much about the capability of the French fighter jet which gives an upper hand to India.
