Put them out of their misery

You get married.
You have a kid.
The kid has a disease which has no cure.
This disease will cause him/her untold suffering before he/she dies a very slow and painful death?

Put them out of their misery or keep them alive even though they suffer greatly in pain for the short period of time they are alive.

For those who haven’t seen it watch Extraordinary Measures. Good movie.

Re: Put them out of their misery

when i saw it .. i thought the same that they must put him out of the misery. but for some the emotional bond is very strong .. :|

Re: Put them out of their misery

let them live, its every persons right.

Re: Put them out of their misery

I would let them live unless they asked me to do otherwise.

I am alive for thier sake... thier request is my command.

But i think my heart would break, and not for the first time... i'd probably bleed inside like.

Re: Put them out of their misery

let them live? I am sorry did someone make you God to make the choice of whether you can choose to let someone live or die....

Re: Put them out of their misery

^ You have a good point :k:

Re: Put them out of their misery

applies to elderly too?

Re: Put them out of their misery

seems like a moral dilemma, if it wud hv been an elder the decision wud b an easier by just going as per their wish but putting a child in this equation makes it v difficult. I think in such cases the HOPE is always there that may be one day by some miracle they’ll survive which mostly never happens but then Umeed par duniya Qayim hay. I feel sorry for the kids thou, no kid in the whole world should ever ever suffer any pain/suffering :bummer:

try to see My Sister’s a Keeper, it’s also a nice movie

If some one is in pain (obviously talking about some serious pain ) and there is no cure its better to put them out of tat misery ..

MID CITY HOSPITAL Karachi NEXT TO COPPER CATTLE CAFE STADIUM ROAD 3rd floor blood cancer patients go and have a look you will feel the same ..

Re: Put them out of their misery

keep them alive, and if can't take are of them give them up to someone who can...

Re: Put them out of their misery

While the intentions may be in the right place.....from an Islamic perspective, it's not allowed. Haven't seen the movie, but in some cases the doctors (through the use of drugs) can considerably reduce the pain and the patient's awareness of it.

Re: Put them out of their misery

And anyone in between.

Re: Put them out of their misery

Just like I dont believe on honor killing, I dont believe on mercy killings

mercy killing is like war for peace or fcuking for virginity!

Re: Put them out of their misery

they have a right to live, morphine helps.

Re: Put them out of their misery

things like these r very tough n parents of such children go through hell.. so much sadness n sorrow that we can't even imagine.. but i'll still give my opinion n say that let them live.. u never know.. what if they get cured naturally in the last stage of their illness?? but then another part of me says that why make them suffer just to keep them wid u. it's kinda selfish.. i dunno. stuff like this just makes me depressed.. i'm outta here..

Re: Put them out of their misery

Euthanasia?
