Allah swt does mention in the Quran that prophets were sent in every nation:

“We had sent messengers before you. Among them there are those whose history We have narrated to you, and of them there are those whose history We did not narrate to you”. Quran 40:78

“And verily We have raised in every nation a messenger, (proclaiming): Serve Allah and shun false gods. Then some of them (there were) whom Allah guided, and some of them (there were) upon whom error had just hold”. Quran 16:36

This verse may explain why certain prophets are so celebrated in the Quran:

“Allah did choose Adam and Noah the family of Abraham, and the family of Imran above all people.” Quran 3:33

And finally, Hazrat Muhammad saw, was a messenger for all of mankind and the Quran is a guidance for the whole of mankind despite the fact that it was revealed in Arabia to an arab prophet.

But at the same time Hazrat Muhammad(SAW) became prophet also last 3 prophets before him(SAW) came, the people of India , Japan , China had bigger population and needed the guidance too because they were mushrik too on top of that they did not believe in Allah(SWT) at least people of Arabia believed Allah(SWT) although they were mushrik too. So people of Japan , China and India also in need of guidance at the same time .
