Job means to me an activity, a purpose in life and fitting in society.

^ good... I would have to agree with this. By fitting I would think it means contributing to it and becoming a useful citizen.

A job… as a means to an end – e.g. earning a living…
A Professional job… a purpose based, intentional and planned undertaking with a clear direction in mind along with a sense of accomplishment.
