In religious discussion, we back up our comments with references from the ahadith. I would like to ask you all a question that what is the purpose of a ahadith bringing into any discussion?
1- Just argue
2- Talking about narrater (disagree/agree/defend)
3- Correction of our behavior
4- Further clarification due to acceptance
or
5- To pratice same as narrated
Feel free to add any point to express your views. Thankyou.
Before any conversation is had regarding hadith - the seeker should acquire the reference and seek it out from his own books. Read it in many versions if he/she does not know Arabic and if he/she does know Arabic to read the source script.
Then to look for commentaries on it by scholars and use these comments in any such discussions. If a debate brews up to refer the matter to your authorities and kindly avoid the argument.
I think we should act/follow as is it ordered in any hadith without any hesitation. We shall not try to find out any leniency (due to any worldly affairs). Once I heard an audo lecture where the commentator said "When a person to the Companions r.a. (after Prophet Muhammad ) for further clarification (if there is any leniency in the matter), the Companions r.a. just reply “What Almighty Allah and His Prophet said ‘thats it’, we don’t what if this or what if that”. So I think the matter should be very straight forward and bold.
