I dont know what it is, but for some reason, right on my university, the night sky looks purple rather than blue.
If you go off campus, into the city, it looks blue/black.
Even in well lit areas, it looks blue/black.

Anyone know what it could be?

Re: Purple Sky
no no. the purple sky I talk about is dark purple - way after the sun has disappeared from the sky.
Imagine instead of a velvet blue sky dotted with stars, a velvet purple sky dotted with stars.
Re: Purple Sky
Could someone please post pictures of a purple sky? The on posted by Chat Walla doesn't really count as purple. I have seen red, yellow and orange skies though.
Re: Purple Sky
it might be fog or pollution ..
Re: Purple Sky
PCG, you are spending way too much time staring the computer screen. give some break
second opinion, I go with the light (near the purple wavelength) reflected off more than other colours due to smog in the air
