I want to wear those cool toned pink lipsticks that have purple undertones but any purple on my lips looks so bad and gets emphasized even more on me for some reason. Even girl about town from mac is too purple on me even though it is supposed to look great on everyone. How do you get around this ? I want to wear fuschia colours but there is too much purple. Am i choosing the wrong lipsticks or something or is there a trick i dont know. I’m around an nc 25-30

Try MAC Impassioned or Show Orchid. You should also try a lip priming product before applying lipstick. MAC’s Prep + Prime Lip is quite good.

Are there any dupes for show orchid ? I tried fuschia fever by maybelline but it is way too blue toned for my liking.

Meh..I don't like pinky-purples or fuchsias. I do like vampy brownish purples though.

@Ice Baby I think Hot Pink from Models Own is pretty similar to Show Orchid (except that it has slightly less of a blue undertone than Show Orchid).

If you looking for purple then you can try Rebel from MAC, NYX Matte lip cream ( my fav!) in the color Copenhagen, NYX Matte lipstick in ARIA, I think Revlon or Milani has a color called Red Cherry or something like that...that's a pretty shade too!
I actually think Purple is a color which any skin tone can carry off but for some reason many girls are scared to pull it off. Whenever I wear purple lipstick, everyone goes like - "omg i can never even think of wearing this color".....honestly everyone should own atleast 1 purple, 1 maroon and 1 orange lipstick....really changes the face!

If you have access to Sleek makeup, they have an amazing purple matte lipstick (shade Fandango Purple). I've been wearing it for ages and it suits most asian girls I've recommended it to - it's closer to a hot pink as well and is really easy to wear.
