So I was reading this book and it says that there are four major ways/dialects that we use to convey love and feel loved.
a. words of approval
People who feel loved by words of approval and praises are categorized as puppy dogs. They can be tamed by words of affection and nothing can be more devastating than words of disapproval in an angry tone.
b. physical contact
This can be a pat on the back or a sexual relationship. People who understand this dialect tend to feel most loved in this form and sometimes that’s the only way they feel loved. And he categorizes these type of people as cats.
c. favours and deeds
This is goldfish. They feel loved when you do things for them and physical contact or words of approval is not their way of expressing or feeling love.
d. quality time
This one is about “spending quality time together”. For this type of person touching them or doing things for them is not important, rather they like spending quality time together. And it is done by giving that person your complete attention, listening to her concerns dreams etc. This is categorized as "canary".
