You guys are all right! There are a few words depending on dialect!

In Doabi dialect (Spoken in places like Jalandhar, Nawanshar) the word for watermelon is Hadvaanhaa.
In Malwai (Spoken in Ludhiana, Patiala) we have Tarbooja, Tarbooz (This is the most fun way of saying it, TARBOOOOOOOOOOOOZ)

I’ve also heard Baskooa and one friend of mine says Mateera. Never heard Duanna, curious which dialect that could be from???

Now to my Sindhi speaking friends, what is the Sindhi word for Watermelon? I need to learn some Sindhi!

In Sindhi, watermelon is chhan’ heen. hindaano was also used in old times
