Belle, if you can understand hindko, you can understand Punjabi. Both languages are very similar to each other, infact you can call hindko a dialect of Punjabi. Punjab is a very big province thats why the way of pronouncing things at different places can be different, and thats natural. But for the most part, hindko and punjabi is the same language.

deeghar is a persian word meaning "shaam"/evening.....I dont know how it ended up in punjabi.
PS : dont hold ur breath for too long ....Chalta hai wont be able to bare the loss.

my naani and daadi use these names. sometimes my uncles used to laguh at me when i didn’t know which namaz they are talking about. even though i speak punjabi at home, but i don’t speak real complicated one. i speak a little modern one, i mean i use urdu words in it too, but don’t speak the whole sentence in urdu (i do know how to speak urdu as well)…anyway, i had heard fajar, peshi, and deegar…but i heard namashaan and kuftaan for the first time…new info, thanx
