Re: Punjabi Men vs. Urdu speaking Men
well congrats.yeah i guess i missed a lot.
Re: Punjabi Men vs. Urdu speaking Men
Hmm i never noticed anything like that, but then again I dont know many people from Karachi .. I think its normal to refer to someone as bhai or uncle ..
Re: Punjabi Men vs. Urdu speaking Men
We karachittes got no match in this world , so ya cant really compare us ![]()
Re: Punjabi Men vs. Urdu speaking Men
yup we cannot get a match of that pakora accent anywhere else :p
Re: Punjabi Men vs. Urdu speaking Men
My all karachi based cousins talk like indian movies. I am not sure if its normal there.
Re: Punjabi Men vs. Urdu speaking Men
Funny thread....I have friends from both areas....Most of them from Karachi though:)...I think it is all dependent on how it was in your own home!
I have friends who really donot want their friends to even say Salam to their husbands....now that is funny...its like don;t even acknowledge he is there....can't ask them paa did you eat well etc etc:D...and then there are those where we are pretty informal...joke around etc.
I really think its the family conditions rather then the Karachi/Lahore/Islamabad/Abbotabad/Peshawar difference:D

Re: Punjabi Men vs. Urdu speaking Men
What about Balochi men? Sindhi men? Pathan men? How about men from down the street on the right hand side or the men down the street on the left hand side?
Lets not forget the gay men and the men who don't know they are gay.
An observation I made the other day - Punjabi men are more possisive of their wives.
Guys typically from Karachi are more open minded. They don't care if their wives are friends with their male friends. Their wives call my husband by the first his name - no bhai added. They all sit together in one room (guys and gals) and joke around openly
Guys typically from punjabi households - don't particuarly like their wives mingling with their guy friends. Wives are friends with their male friend's wives. Most of them refer to my husband as "Bhai".
Any one else notice that?
Yes that's why I like Punjabis.

I believe pathan men are more possessive of their wives!
Re: Punjabi Men vs. Urdu speaking Men
I am neither punjabi speaking, nor urdu speaking.
Sometimes i call a bloke bhai, sometimes i call the same bloke by his name. If i call him bhai its bcos i remember that he calls me bhabhi, otherwise i 4get n call him blokesname.
