An observation I made the other day - Punjabi men are more possisive of their wives.
Guys typically from Karachi are more open minded. They don't care if their wives are friends with their male friends. Their wives call my husband by the first his name - no bhai added. They all sit together in one room (guys and gals) and joke around openly
Guys typically from punjabi households - don't particuarly like their wives mingling with their guy friends. Wives are friends with their male friend's wives. Most of them refer to my husband as "Bhai".
Any one else notice that?
I dont know how can you generalize things this simply but I am from KArachi and my best friend is a Punjabi. We in fact are 4 best friend (2 from punjab and 2 of us from Karachi) and we meet almost every weekend my wife call them ___ bhai, their wives call me ____ bhai, I call them bhabi ....they call my wife bhabi .... we all have dinner together, we sometimes sit in same room and talk if we have a common topic of discussion else girls have their own little meeting in another room, in summer break we all go for fun together...
It has more to do with the upbringing of a person/nature of a person than "punjabi" or "karachite"
