Punjabi Culture

What is Punjabi culture?

Are you proud of your culture?

How do you feel the perception of other people about you?

Re: Punjabi Culutre

lagata hai app ke pitney ka mood hu raha hai :hmmm:

Re: Punjabi Culture

I don't know what punjabi culture is, but I am proud of what ever I am.

Re: Punjabi Culture

The perception of Punjab is not good not only in Pakistan but also Afghanistan :)

Re: Punjabi Culture

konsi cheez sab say achi lagti hia… :5:

Re: Punjabi Culture

I'm not Punjabi, but I love their culture. Their folkore, poetry, music, dance, colorful dresses, bare bare lassi ke glass, mutyaranen.... everything is their for Punjabis to be proud

Re: Punjabi Culture

^ one good thing that I like is the historic openness to welcome people to settle in and be a part of the land. The multiculturalism that we hear of today has been practised in these areas for long.

Re: Punjabi Culture

:hmmm:English main likha hai ya ordu main…

Re: Punjabi Culture

You know, I’ve always found this ironic as many of the not nice things Pashtuns often say about Punjab and Punjabis, people also say about us. :omg:

Re: Punjabi Culture

What do they say?

Re: Punjabi Culture

That was why I mentioned that Pashtuns are the punjabis of Afghanistan in the other thread. Punjabis form the majority of Pakistan hence get bashed by others, they could well be justified in that. Same is the case of Pashtuns in Afghanistan. I have felt that even Afghans possess a special love hate relationship with Punjab (my interaction with them in afghan forums). :hehe:

Re: Punjabi Culture

Many stereotype Punjabis as coarse, insular, loud mouth, licentious and aggressive. Quite ironic given that people say the same about us. :cb:

Re: Punjabi Culture

saamjh nahin aata to like kiyun karte ho BOL fil style :emmy:

Re: Punjabi Culture

Daal Khor and what not :smack:

Re: Punjabi Culture

matbal mela samjh gaye na…

Re: Punjabi Culture

punjab di majjein

Re: Punjabi Culture

I like the historical buildings having mogul and Victorian architecture, dahi bhallay, falooda etc

Re: Punjabi Culture

You know, I have a theory about this. I’m sure you’ve heard that two magnets with the same charge repel each other or how people that are very similar cannot live together because they end up irritating each other? Well, I think it’s rather like that. :hehe:

Re: Punjabi Culture

You know what’s funny, most Punjabis take absolutely no offense in all of this. Haha.

They do have this ‘we are whatever you say we are’ arrogance. In my opinion, it’s quite hard to wind up Punjabis, they do come with thick skins.

Re: Punjabi Culture

^ I personally love Afghanistan and it's culture. Some how my first discussion boards used to be afghan and Bangladeshi (a decade ago). Pakistani forums came much down the line.
