LAHORE: The Punjab government has ordered the removal of NATO logistics stored by a private company in Attock district, provincial Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Thursday.
The minister said it was a matter of great concern for the locals that NATO logistics were being stored at a building along Fateh Jahan Road, Attock. He said that it was a sensitive area because there were important installations there.
He said that he had already brought the matter to the notice of the House, but no action had so far been taken.
Another MPA from Attock said NATO logistics in Punjab could serve as a trigger for Taliban attacks in the province.
Sanaullah said it was not a depot of weapons. He said that according to an inquiry report, a private company was using 12 acres of land as a stopover for trucks carrying NATO food and fuel supplies.
Where to next? Iran or Russia? I think the storage of NATO supplies in Pakistan and going through Pakistan has been of great concern. While there was some business generated for the truckers who haul the supplies, the ambushes and explosions are just not worth it.
NATO would be better off drafting a different route.
I do not see what your stance on political situation is champ. At one hand you seem to oppose USA/NATO while on other hand you support army, while we all know that both army and US/NATO are allies.
From the sounds of things this is quite sensible. No one likes living near sites of military interest that could draw attention.
During my childhood terrorists bombed a building near my house in London, that was later announced to be semi-secret British Army facility (there were no signs declaring it a military site). Residents were outraged that there was such a building in the neighbourhood and it was shut down afterwards as a result of the threat it posed to nearby residents.
In this case, supplies intended for military consumption in Afghanistan should be stored at military facilities under proper guard and protection rather than in civilian areas.

My stance is very Clear, i am with each & every Force who is Defending this Country & making Sacrifices for it, PAK Army & NATO are not allies , but Pak Gov & NATO are allies, there is a small difference in it, PAK Army always opposed the NATO for interfering with Pakistan, but our Pathetic Gov always Supported NATO.
Those Schools are not run by NATO, i think thats enough for your logic.....
If the schools allow girls that could trigger a Taliban attack. Not submitting to terrorists demands, that could cause a Taliban attack. Better get use to bending over.

There is a lot of Difference in Punjab & FATA or SWAT, .... at least you should understand this, Bcoz & also there are not many Religious Fanatics in Punjab who can do anything like this. + there is RAW activity in Punjab.
PS: we Never Bend, bcoz i did not choose this Gov & i am not responsible for their action. So you can say thins to those who choose this Government.

The cooperation between US and Pak army goes a long way back and has always been very strong. Remember Pak army generals genrally receive training in US. The traditional high points in US-Pak relationships have been during military regimes that is Ayub, Zia and Musharraf. And what do you say about what Musharraf did after one phone call from US?
^ Training of officers is not a big deal , almost every country in the world does this, USA have never helped in any WAR regardless of what they say , they never provided us support when we needed it,.
What Musharaf did was the best for the Pakistan on that moment, in Army some times you have to make Decision which others may not like, but are necessary for the safety of the country.

hmmm I don't know how to put it. Although the move itself makes sense, but at the same time it also sends a very wrong signal. Since Pakistan is a fedration of 4 provinces and fedral capital area, it would have made more sense if Punjab Government had requested ISLAMABAD to take this action. Like it or not, any action which may have some affect on PAKISTAN's relations with international community, should be taken by the FEDRAL Government. Any provincial Government MUST NOT take such actions on their own. In future some other provincial government may decide to take some other action of their liking. what if Sindh Government decides to open Khokrapar border for "mutual trade" with India? a hell will break loose if that happens. On a separate note, it's a common understanding that most of these logistic contracts were given to a Pakiistani company allegedly owned by Mr Zardari, hence IMO it's just another political stunt to get to him than having a real concern about safety.
