The debate is not about what can be done, and cant be done. The debate is about Punjab getting the front seat in everything, courtesy of the family business the Sharifs are running. Other provinces are not getting a fair share of federal attention, and Nawaz Sharif is not exactly behaving as a national leader. Shahbaz Sharif is making provincial decisions on a national scale, because he has full access to national machinery, courtesy bhai sahib.
The Sharifs have learned little to nothing since their last stint in power, and are acting the exact same way.

Imran hasnt let him off. Neither has the press. The press has been chastising the Sharifs for preferential treatment towards Punjab (SS goes to China, Sharif family goes to China, SS meets ISI chief with PM, SS sits in on national energy policy meetings…while no other CM is even invited) But fortunately for the Sharifs, they have a thick hide.
That the Sharifs are just white collar Zardaris is no secret. We have already been through 2 tenures with them, so we know them very well. Its not just about their favortism to Punjab that is in question, their commitment to justice is also in question.
When you see the Ephedrine case being revived against the Gilanis and Makhdoom Shahabuddin, and realize that a judge has very quietly dismissed the case against Hanif Abbasi for the same crime, eyebrows will be raised.
When the judge presiding over the Hudaibiya mills case is changed soon after PML’s entry into govt, eyebrows will be raised.
When Mian Mansha, leader of the IPP mafia is allowed to sit in national energy meetings, and effectively take decisions on power tarrifs, eyebrows will be raised
When you are told that the govt has paid off more than 65% of the circular debt, people expect loadshedding to go down by at least 50%. Instead, it has gone up, and even the elusive iftar and sehri light show is missing in many areas.
