Re: Punjab excludes Islamic subjects from Matric book
Someone who says there is no Islamic culture must be living under a rock. The sound of the adhan in 5x a day is part of the Islamic culture/lifestyle..so is the young kids grabbing their saparas in the morning and going to the masjid, so is men dressing and showering to get ready for friday..so is the haqiqa of every new born, and the list can go on and on.. I mean these are things that are distinctly Islamic..and they are a part of our culture not because it is Pakistani culture, but because it's Islamic culture.. otherwise all we have is Hindu culture.. so you are saying that Millions of muslims got killed, created a country for muslims, but we should not call it an Islamic country? LOL..that makes tons of sense..
Someone who thinks there is such a thing as "Islamic" culture doesnt know what culture is...
Adhan is also broadcast in Turkey, Egypt, Indonesia, and none of these countries are of the same culture as Pakistan. Culturally we have more in common with Hindus and Sikhs of India then Muslims of such countries as mentioned.
The lifestyles of Muslims is hardly uniform. Even within Pakistan itself, the lifestyles of Muslims is stark.
These things that are distinctly Islamic dont require we live in a so called "Islamic" state. Those of us living outside of Pakistan in secular countries, do those very same things, and relgious practice is in no way contingent on whether our govt is "Islamic" or not.
