BUREWALA - The division of Punjab province on linguistic basis is not acceptable and Seraiki province is the propaganda of anti-state elements.

Our movement will oppose creation of the Seraiki province at every forum, the remarks were made by the participants of a consulting meeting arranged by Punjabi Qaumi Tehreek Burewala (PQTB) at Press Club Burewala here on Sunday.

Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajraan President Muhammad Jameel Bhatti, General Secretary Muhammad Saghir Ramay, PML-N Youth Wing President Manzoor Barkat Mariwala, Press Club General Secretary Nadeem Mushtaq, Advocate Fiaz Azeem, Abdul Hafeez, Liaquat Ali Parwana, Muhammad Hanif Sufi, Mahmood Ghazni, Akarm Bajwa, Muhammad Yaseen Bhatti, Malik Muhammad Aslam, Malik Abdul Hafeez, Muhammad Afzal Paras and other addressed the participants of the consulting meeting.

The speakers said that people of Punjab had never compromised on the national issues and division of the province over linguistic grounds meant to destabilize the country. They said that Seraiki people were our brethren but some feudal and industrialists wanted to rule over the poor people by using language as a tool which was not acceptable. They said that new provinces had been created on administrative grounds all over the world but the current regime was using it to black mail their political opponents. They said that Pakistan could not be divided on the linguistic basis furthermore which will be against the ideology of the state. They said that people who are dividing Punjabis and Seraikis were not sincere with the ideology of Pakistan. They threatened that there would be a large scale protest against the issue, saying that division of the province on linguistic grounds would not be accepted at any cost. **They said that Punjabi Qaumi Tehreek Burewala (PTB) had constituted a 15 members committee which would oppose the inclusion of Vehari district in the purposed Seraiki province. They said that Vehari district, particularly people of Burewala would send their reservations to President Asif Zardari to apprise him that Punjabi people were not interested in the inclusion of their areas in the proposed province.

Some seraiki campaigners also include sahiwal and pakpattan in the proposed province of seraikistan but i believe people in these two districts are majority punjabi speaking and its not just to include them in seraiki province.

Re: Punjab division on linguistic basis unacceptable: PQTB

You are right, Area upto Khaniwal is now much changed and now that should be basically known as part of Lahore province. (Proposed)

Re: Punjab division on linguistic basis unacceptable: PQTB

I can reply you. What you people are doing with cricket and cricket team,What you are doing with other games, I am surprised, You are splitting Pakistan.
Have you seen any international event in Baluchistan when it was peaceful.
How you can ask for a unity.

Re: Punjab division on linguistic basis unacceptable: PQTB

I think division is probably the last Pakistan needs albeit it just on the provincial level. It certainly doesn't send a good signal to say the Balochis or Kashmiri nationalists.

Re: Punjab division on linguistic basis unacceptable: PQTB

The KP and Baluchistan will be comfortable to live united with smaller provinces. Multan and Bahwalpur have traditional links with Baluchistan.

Re: Punjab division on linguistic basis unacceptable: PQTB

Sorry, I don't follow what you're saying. I just think the provinces shouldn't change in shape. Maybe Kashmir should only be the only exception only because a lot of that depends on how foreign countries such as India and China behave.

Re: Punjab division on linguistic basis unacceptable: PQTB

U can reply me but i dnt want to reply you

Re: Punjab division on linguistic basis unacceptable: PQTB
