People supporting Imran Khan so vehemently on this board dont even know what his views/stances are on different topics. What do people know about Imran's views on women, religious fundamentalism, Pakistani Judiciary and other important issues?
Unfortunately, Imran has become a typical opportunist in the Pakistani political arena and he is just trying to cash in on the current drama. Will he succeed, I dont think so, however time will tell. I will wait and see how many of Imran's supporters here still side with him when elections are near.
I was one of the first ones who joined Tehrik-e-Insaf and probably amongst the earlier ones who left. Imran Khan is another person with a God-Complex who does not tolerate anyone whose views do not match his. This is why his party has not succeded in bringing in another politician or an intellectual of note. Most of his member's are again opportunists who dont even vote for him. Imran, himself does not have a clear view on how his party will become a political force on the national arena, he has no concept of team work. His city and regional officials are no better than two timing thugs and mawalis with no social standing with in their communities.
Please note that Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital is a different case and a decent section of my zakat still goes to it, however I have a serious difference of opinions with his political views.

I think its a very good insight into PTI. Nevertheless he is going to do one good thing at least.

What I like about Imran Khan, is simply that he hasnt been corrupted by power...
He isnt from a feudal background, he is srupulously honest, and his party slogan is very people oriented.
On the negatives, he isnt averse to the relgious parties (although I suspect the MMA wont get many seats in the next election) and he is a wild card when it comes to dealing with the US and foreign policy.
But still would love to see him ascend to power.
Comeon that is why i like the bloke, he might just bridge the differences between two wildlyoscillating classes in our homeland. and would love to see him doing some good too.

Mostar95, if you are referring to him getting rid of Altaf Hussain then let me tell you what it is all about. Just a stunt to gain some media attention, nothing more. Is this the first time people have been killed in MQM ruled Karachi? Where was Imran Khan uptil now? How did his heart got filled with the love of people murdered in Karachi?
This is the first time it has gathered big media attention, and we all know why. Both factions across the CJ divide are trying to use the 43 deaths to their advantage, Musharraf's group by letting media carry the focus on MQM brutality instead of CJ case and Anti Musharraf group for more airtime close to coming elections.
This will not be the first case filed against Altaf Hussain, at national or international level, and it wont be the last. People will continue dying from Khayber to karachi because of these politicians needs for alliances and their corruptness and Altaf, today's brute for some, will be the same peoples friend when they are looking for 27 NA votes to form a government.
It is sad to see the naivity of people on this board.

Man you are oversimplifying things. Imran has taken a stand now because this is the first time his own party workers have been seriously injured (all urdu-speaking) and directly affected by MQM badmaashi. At times like this one has to speak out against such ghundagardi and say enough is enough.

what makes you think people want to look at anybody? the solution is not simple and it will never come from the top but, in my opinion, from the bottom. First of all people should work on themselves and their homes, be more realistic and be willing to live with-in their means. Bring back the old values we had and were so proud of into our lives.

Nahi, not over simplifying but getting to the crux of the matter.
I am all for rooting out the ghundagardi. It is just that I know, from experience, that this will not happen and what is the motivation behind the current hoopla.

what makes you think people want to look at anybody? the solution is not simple and it will never come from the top but, in my opinion, from the bottom. I agree and strongly believe that change will come from the bottom, grass roots level. In addition to that, the new leadership will/should come from the young (20s, 30s, 40s), entrepreneurial class!

i tried to register on the guy's site, but he takes an affidavit that you will support Imran Khan's leadership and whatnot, which seems reallly really odd. So I didnt register.
I'll wait and see for what he will do. At the very least though I hope he goes ahead with his case against AH.

Bhaijan, this is the problem Paksitanis have. Rather than standing up against tyranny in all forms or to stop it happening to anyone, they only stand up against it if they are directly affected by it.
Should people not be standing up for the wrong that has been done, no matter against whom it has been done rather than only because it has affected them directly?
Anyway, whatever the reason, at least there is a reason. I suppose one should be grateful for small mercies.

his was the strongest voice in the assembly for senseless kiling of people in Bajor and waziristan, he was the one who took up the missing people case who are fom every province of Pakistan, name one political leader who has made personal effort to do so much work in his contituency with his own resources (roads and university in Mianwali), I wonder if he is in the government how much good he can do

That was one of my issues as well, the wording was strange and I had noted that to Imrans webmaster when he was on GS. I guess they decided not to change it.

He should be careful what he is talking if he wants to be frontline politician. This is excellent time for him to promote himself as a good leader for Pakistan.
