This topic is not for nazuk ABCDs People who have been part of the education system in Pakistan can probably relate to it. In a lot of schools, teachers punish you and physically beat you up if you misbehave, don’t do your homework, come to class late, or don’t go to them for tutoring etc.
If you were ever punished in school, are there some instances that you still have not forgotten? As for me, I haven’t forgotten the time when:
- Elementary School: The class was getting out of control, the madam called her husband, the principal, and he beat up the whole class with a sugarcane on our butts and the sugarcane broke - Elementary School: My teacher (female) beat me up so hard that I got the hiccups from crying; because I couldn’t memorize “Dua-e-maghfirat” that we recite in Namaz: Rabb-e Jaa’alni Muqimu-s-salat-i… - High School: I was drawing on the board when a teacher of that school slapped me for drawing on the board. - High School: A teacher purposely gave the class a pop-quiz because we were going to a different teacher for tutoring but he wanted us to go to him. I got the question wrong and he made me a murgha and beat me (with other kids) with a stick.
There are other instances too but these are the ones I still have not forgotten
oh my my…they hit u ppl soo bad… yahaaan schools main the teachers can only scold…they cannot even hit girls with the scales…agar they hit someone…they will have to answer to the authorities here…n may even be expelled…
Technically they aren't supposed to hit you and they also have to answer to the authorities, but nobody gives a . In fact, I've seen parents asking teachers to "seedha karna" their kids. Everyone keeps saying hitting children is bad but they still do it regardless.
I remember one instance where a teacher beat up a kid so bad with a stick that he broke his wrist bone. The boy's dad got so mad that he wanted to beat the out of that teacher and that teacher was under strict protection of other students while going home. Then all this died and everything went back to normal.
hahahahaha shikki mawssi now I know why u go around the cafe using this smiley on every one →
I remember when I was yelled at by my teacher once in 9th grade Ok this happened back in 96 when me n my family recently moved to pak from KSA. AAnd here I am on my first day in Pakistani school in Lahore. I was shy n quiet… sittin in the back of the class. That one girl being nice n all asked me to switch my seat with her, which was right upfront near the teacher’s desk.
As it was my first day .. I had no clue which class it was and what kind a teacher will be teaching. So, by the time I agreed with that girl to switch my seat.. Miss Salma (math teacher) was already in class. She was old n tough rigid woman! Very disciplined and demanded it as well from the class .. which obviously I didnt know Miss Salma is in class and at a same time I swtiching seats .. as soon as I approach my new seat infront of teacher .. I realize that seat was broken :S I was like Im not sittin on it and I grabbed my bookbag and headed off at the back of the class that all of a sudden I heard a scary voice I got yelled at REALLY BAD infront of the whole class for doing that Pehlay din hi bayzateee ho gayee thee.
I still sat at the end of the class and cried lol after classs was finished.. all the girls were around me caring and tellin me not to worryy .. lol they all jumped on that meany girl
But then in final examz I showed Miss Salma how good of a student I am by gettin 100 percent on the examz
That's really sad :( I can't imagine being in a classroom where the one whom we are learning from is beating a classmate. Think of what impact that has on the kids. :(
EMM You guessed it right. Mein apney bachpan k badley inn masoom logon sey ley raha hoon
Moti well, you have to keep in mind that most kids there aren’t all innocent either Hitting children is wrong but that’s the only thing that really reinforces what the teacher asks them to do. Keep in mind, I am talking about what I experienced 10+ years ago. Things are improving now. Back in my days, we didn’t have as many grades as you would have in the US. In Pakistan, we only had final exams. No mid-terms, regular tests (although did have verbal tests), no bonus points etc, no grades of A, B, C etc. In US, you can use these things to motivate/punish the child but in Pakistan these things didn’t really exist back in those days, so guess what’s left to keep them in line? Yep.
The funniest one is when the principal came to her wife’s rescue and started beating little children with a sugarcane, and by the time he reached to me, the sugarcane had almost broken
I don’t think beating a child under any circumstances is ever right. =\ There are other ways of discipline that are much more effective. But, I suppose these jaahil teachers from Pindh wouldn’t know anything about educational discipline, now would they?
Hey did I tell you that I promised my Dad that someday I’d teach children at his village? He warned me not to because he said they’re very badmaash and they’d probably make me cry. I don’t care, because it’d be worth it if I had the opportunity to educate just one generation that would really make a difference.
Okay so he just lined you up and smacked you on the hiney with a sugarcane? LOL hahahahah that must’ve felt really silly I mean if I was being hit on the butt with a sugarcane with my pals I’d start laughing.
