I was watching this report on PTV earthquake special transmission, that showed lot of tents with traders who are not selling them and those who are, are selling at three times the previous price.
Government has banned the export of tents but it needs to fine/arrest/punish these people. If a cameraman can reach these culprits why can’t the law enforcing agencies?
Similarly, the transporters whould be fined who are over charging.

people have raised the prices of kafan's as well. These people are very obviously stone-hearted.

In war times, military can seize civilians property/assets for its utilization (as per my knowledge), same should be done with such pigheads, their merchandise should be seized and utilised to provide shelter for the earthquake-rendered-homeless people.

It is very easy to sit far away and make statements. People being people will indulge in these kind of activities. It shows a lack of sensitivity on the part of the merchants. By stating that it is a war like situation and that properties of the merchants should be seized is like putting the cart infront of the horse. Then the govt would have to provide relief to these merchants also, since their source of livelihood has been taken away from them.

I think government should seize the goods from these merchants and pay them the price they were taking B4 the disaster. Anyone found to be hiding the goods, should then be severey fined or a few quik lashes in public will do the job.

it is a simple case of Supply & Demand. As the supply is diminshing and the demand is increasing, there is going to be an upward pressure on the price. Why should the traders be punished?

There is also something called consumers protection. Its a criminal act to let the people die just to keep the price high.

for every person who is selling relief goods at inflated prices, there are at least two who are discounting. everyone will be answerable for his own deeds in akhirat.
