"A woman without her man is nothing"
on the chalkboard and asked his students to punctuate it correctly..
All of the males in the class wrote:
"A woman, without her man, is nothing."
All the females in the class wrote:
"A woman: without her, man is nothing."
Punctuation is powerful!!
lol!! Theres a really wonderful book called "Eats, shoots and leaves." That sentence was written about koala bears and the comma was inadvertently added - changing the entire meaning of the sentence. The book focuses on the importance of proper puctuation and sentence formation and clearly demonstrates the power of both. A good read!
