Puffy eyes.... any cures? PLEASE HELP!

So

I have really puffy eyes. I drink about 3 litres of water a day. Have a low sodium diet.

If I sleep less I have them, if I oversleep I have them, if I sleep an optimum amount I have them.

I have tried antihistamines for a month. Still the same.

Changed bed covers to silk…STILL have them.

WHY DONT THEY GO AWAY??

I have tried everything. I even stopped wearing eye make up for a month and they were still there, all day long.

Theyr’e not dark circles but just these huge puffy bags hanging off the bottom of my eyes. And its getting me really depressed.

Does anyone have any tried/tested tips or tricks to get rid of this awfulness?

talk to your doctor if its that evident? get your thyroid levels checked. Or it is just normal part of aging

Allergies? People with ectopic tendencies have them, and they wont go away.

Get your cholesterol levels tested. These could also be due to minerals which your body can't flush out. If due to cholesterol, you'll have to start eating healthy and cut down all kinds of bad fats. If due to minerals, check what brand of water you're drinking. All the mineral water brands raise mineral levels so if your tap water is not filtered then boil your own drinking water. That will take time but your eyes will be back to normal. It happened to my eyes. Not to this level but I noticed and caught quite early. So then I started drinking the filtered tap water. Now I feel them lightly sometimes when I eat fatty food and don't excercise. Otherwise, thank God got rid of the problem.

Not sure if I can offer anything valuable but I have dark circles and some puffiness. I use cold tea bags and it reduces the puffiness for a couple of hours. I've also found putting uptan on my face also helped the eyes area.

Surgery is the only permanent solution read on for details.

Q:
I wake up with puffy eyes every morning. The puffiness has started to become very noticeable now. I work at the computer and stare at the screen for about 10-12 hours a day. Can this be causing the puffiness? If so, what should I do in this situation? Is eyelid surgery indicated? Please advise.

A:
If by puffy eyes, you mean bags under the eyes, then yes, surgery can improve your appearance.
A very common aging change in the lower eyelids is the development of bags which are in most cases due to an outward bulging of the fat pads behind the lower lids. These bags of fat can be improved by conservative removal through an invisible incision on the inside of the lower lid (trans-conjunctival approach) in patients that do not require skin excision, or through the under-eyelash (sub-ciliary approach) in patients that are having some excess lower lid skin removed.
As with skin removal, I believe that the reduction (NOT total removal) of lower lid fat pads should be conservative. Excessive removal of lower lid fat pads results in a hollowed-out appearance that makes blepharoplasty patients look tired or even ill. I see quite a number of eyelid surgery patients who require structural fat grafting of the lower lids to improve that very problem following an over-aggressive lower blepharoplasty in the past.
In some case lower lid bags can be improved by repairing or reinforcing the soft tissues that normally hold them back. Additionally, excessive lower lid fat can sometimes be mobilized and transposed inferiorly to fill in periorbital hollows or depressions such as the tear trough at the medial junction of the lower lid and cheek.
Some eyelid bags involve redundant muscle tissue which must be removed and/or repositioned, usually in patients who are in their sixties or older. This is performed through an under-eyelid (sub-ciliary) incision which is extended laterally into the crow’s feet area.

As Mirch stated above, blepharoplasty is a guaranteed permanent solution to your problem. Do a google search and you'll find TONS of info on it. I have a friend and a co-worker who had this done....both upper and lower lids, and are very happy with the results. The plastic surgeon did it with local anesthesia only and recovery was super easy for them (I actually had lunch with my friend the day after her surgery). Both were back to work within a few days. The only reason they took a few days off was b/c of the bruising/swelling/stitches....both told me their eyes looked much worse than how they actually felt during that time.
