Yeah make sure that you're well-hydrated and are taking a multivitamin. I've read that puffy eyes can be caused by lack of water and as you mentioned sleep deprivation. when you're dehydrated, your body will hold on to whatever little water u have....leading to water retention.....and can result in puffiness.
And you can help to reduce it by applying a cooling substance (cucumbers, potato slices, cold tea bags) to reduce fluid retention. Place on eyes for 5 mintues and then remove. Repeat process again. You can also try to gently tap swollen are with fingertips to help fluid move elsewhere. And you can try sleeping with your head slightly raised...use two pillows to prevent fluid from collecting under ur eyes. Try to get some sleep. If these things don't work, consult a doctor/dermatologist. Best wishes:)
Sleep on 2 pillows for a day or two.. to drain the fluid away from u're face. Use cotton-pad soaked in chilled rosewater and apply it to u're eyes and leave it on till u want!
It could be hormonal or it could be cause by what you've done the day before.
Like drinking too much water before going to bed can causee fluid retention or sleeping without your head raised above the body.
Are you eating salty food a lot these days??
You can try what Gina has said to drain the fluid, splash your face with very cold water and use tapping motion with your fingers around the eye area to get the circulation going.
And what sort of eyecream are you using?? What is it specified to do?? If it targets just wrinkles than there is a part of your problem its plumping the skin around your eyes causing more puffiness.
You can go to your chemist and ask for some over the counter medicine to relieve puffiness.
have you tried applying chilled rose water, tea bags, cucumbers, potatoes over your eyes? The skin under your eyes is thin and delicate. So, if you've seen no improvement, I suggest you consult a doctor/dermatologist because it's a sensitive area of your face.
