yes i buy pastry from super market dont remember the name right now and i follow the method as you mention i take sheet off from the roll add the filling and bake it in the oven but the result was just like spring rolls not that exact look of puff pastry. i will try jus roll from asda now.

I think you may have used shortcrust pastry. I make quite a few things with pastry, pasties and pies, and always buy puff pastry. It turns out brilliant and just perfect.
