Mys son is 6 yrs old and has just begun noticing that he isn’t a lady and that he should be going into the men’s toilets.somehow i am not comfortable of him going in there alone.so how can i explain him that he cant go there alone .plus tell me am i being paranoid or its ok to send him alone there???
Re: Public Toilets
NO no, dont send him alone. Its not just about being paranoid, he is a kid and to be honest, public men's room could be one of the filthiest place. When u are with him, you can watch what he is touching (commode, seat, urinal, floor) , but when he is alone, you can control that
Re: Public Toilets
Don't let him go to the mens loo's alone. NEVER, doesn't matter what he says. There are all sorts of weirdo's around who can do anything.
I am not a parent and have no idea when a boy is old enough to go to the mens on his own, but certainly 6 years old is not old enough.
Re: Public Toilets
Perhaps you could explain something as simple as mens loo's are for grown up men, when you are grown up you can go there on your own too.
Re: Public Toilets
Rupay, there are no weirdos there .. but its also depends where is that rest room. In a classy mall, in mcdonalds, at a rest area
Re: Public Toilets
I agree, not a good idea to send him in alone. Try keeping an eye out for "family restrooms", many places now have these - they;re large enough to fit a parent and a few kids. Otherwise, bring him with you into the ladies room, its acceptable and accepted that kids must stay with their parent.

You never know where a weirdo is until a weirdo strikes. All over the news here today is a FEMALE nursery worker who is charged with sexually abusing at least 7 kids, male and female. Its sickening.
In malls people have walked off with other people's kids in malls here in the past, just disappeared with them.
Some people are NOT normal and if they spot an opportunity in their moment of insanity, they take it.
Re: Public Toilets
never send your son in to the mens alone....there are so many sickos around, a few years back a little boy was raped in the mens toilets, i think he was about 7 years old.....its left him and his family scarred for life...
Re: Public Toilets
Do not send your son into the Mens on his own… doesn’t matter where you are… if it’s a public restroom then it’s a no go… just take him to the ladies with you…
… i remember in the early days, when my hubby used to take the girls out on his own, and the girls needed the loo…what to do!!! thankfully they have family restrooms in most places… we would never feel comfotable with our girls going into the mens restroom ![]()
