Public Opinion !?!

NaMaan:

There could be various ways to decide about that. What I might think may have flaws and sure there are ways to better the system.

What I would think is that since Shoora based government is synonymous to the Caliphate/Khilaafat ... and we are talking in context of Islamic republic of Pakistan, Shoora members can consist of two sets of people:

  • Scholars of ALL 4 sunni school of thoughts and Shia School of thought.

  • Known and well educated people from different walks of life.

All of them can delibrate on things and come to common terms regarding Socio-Politico-economic and religious matters.

Now who will select them? One way is to create local bodies within neighbourhoods and an attendence system can be created in mosques where people who come for five time prayers (that will eliminate a lot of crooks if not all - I am not saying it is fool proof) are noted down ... They will have a right to vote to select the Shoora members initially... once the first shoora is established then, it will be an on-going process within the Shura...

Pretty Utopian, innit:)?

Re: Public Opinion !?!

public opinions r not always right , esp the ones biased by favoritism
and no they not always suppress the unpopular opinion

Thanks AQ for your thoughts. Yea Utopian it is :)

I think selection of Shoora going to be the biggest bottleneck. First of all making Suni and Shia sit together and decide some thing is like mixing fuel with fire. Both will burnout and no out come except heat. Second choosing 4 school of thought to one. Plus you will not be able to ignore the ones who you are not willing to include. Same goes with the selection of local bodies and which mosque/s we should choose for this purpose.

I am not really sure if choosing a govt. on the bases of religion will be a good idea. At least for current circumstances. It will be a endless loop with no outcome. Just to mention that I am not undermining religion, but just whole practicality of it for now when we have so many sects and no one leader. We can also think in terms of design of a govt. for a non-muslim country.

I like your point about selection of Known and well educated people. Lets say that for now we have a monarchy and shaping a govt. out of authority is not a problem. Ok so lets discuss it that what sort of people we are looking for here. Do we mean known as Dr. Zakir or Altaf Hussan? or by educated we mean Zerdari or Dr. AQ? I am just giving examples as people have different standards of both known and educated. Do you really think that a known person can run a govt. better? or you might mean known in a good way and not only known known.

Here I am just thinking out loud. As not having a stable government is biggest issue of our country and finding the right leadership. I just wanted to know that what image of an ideal govt. is in our minds.
