My family is planning on getting PTV and we were wondering what type of programming it offers. Is it true that they play old dramas and if so - how old? Do they have any fashion/ music/ political shows? And is it the same programming from Prime TV - the popular paki channel in the UK? If its possible, let me know the names of some of the dramas that they’re showing so I can judge how old their programming is.
Thanks!
You mean Prime TV?
No it’s not true they don’t only show old drama.
Lot of people come to that conclusion too early because they never tune into the time when the new dramas come on.
They have new dramas showing Sun-Fri at 7:45pm est then repeated at 11:15pm.
Yes, exact same programming from Prime TV UK, just different time setting for US.
Some Dramas are Sawan, Mohabbat Ka Ek Pehar, Dam-e-Rasai, etc..
Same Drama are being shown in Pakistan.
But if you want to watch old ones too, go ahead there is lots of those too.
There is some political shows like Live PTV News quite often throughout the day. 4pm, 7pm, 10pm, etc..
Also there is a Current Events show. It is a debatable show with many good representatives.
Tons of Music shows man. Pop, Filmi, Request… I don’t know about Fashion, since i don’t care.

If I was a sports fan I wouldn't get this channel, they don't show any cricket or hockey at all, this why I hate that channel, atleast the Indian channels have tendency show cricket matches once in a while.
New dramas are no where close of being good, they are not like how they use to be.
Yeah they show old dramas mostly the 80's, few 90's(golden age for paki dramas)
Prime TV is a part of PTV. Its 14.99 for the channel per month on dish network. Its a good effort from Pakistani because of the fierce market for the Indian channels. I must admit they need to improve the programing!
There are some great programs and they are new as they are also being shown in Pakistan at the same time. Some guys may find this offensive but there is tooo much tilawat on prime. Literally there is about 5 hours of tilawat in the 24 hour transmission and I am not counting the times for the Azaans and qawalis and na'ats.
