psychological effects of ....

scaring your kids with “Buddha Baba” !!! the trend seems to be never ending in Desi families… usually its that there is one outside the house.. sometimes its in the basement or the closet.. i think kids will be less scared later on in life if their parents wont do this kinda $hit.. excuse my french.. or is it just part of normal upbringing ???

what is bhudda baba?

good topic!
most of the desi families try to get their kids to go to sleep or eat properly, they go like jaldi karo nahi to buddha baba pakar le ga.
in some cases it can cause permenent effect on the child, but usually i have seen that most kids dont get scared of this term anymore.
mybe thats bcz the time this phrase was used when our parents were lil kids, the dark nights and the not so advanced kids did think of it but now the kids dont really give it a secong thought.

Yankee, ummm…r u speaking from experience, dude???

Well in the US its more like Kallah aa jai ga...
makes me sick to the stomach!! The result is desi kids scared of the blacks in school and everywhere else..

It is a baba who is also bhudda…:nahnah:

rolling your eyes on me !!! even so if i am talking from experience i should get ‘sad puppy eyes’ and not the ‘green devilish rolling eyes’ from you ..

PKC-:smack: thank you

I guess i should explain. I never remember my mom saying anything like that to me-BUT-i was always a scaredy cat when i was little anyway,it was already hard enough to get me to sleep  i actually don’t remember her saying it to any of us. anyways, my 12 yr old bros and their best friends all have names for eachother that started with
“bhudda baba” then words that rhymed with bhudda. now they all have some kind of nickname for eachother that rhyme with bhudda and end with baba. I thought it was just random. I didn’t realize it came from somewhere!
