Ok so this has been bothering me for the past couple of days.
There is this new girl that works with who is very pretty. Just recently she started talking/ dating one of my co workers (they just started talking so its not serious yet) So he discussed with me a few other people on our team how things were going with her and she opened up to him too soon too fast. a few days after they started talking she texts him and says I have a nick name for you its my boyfriend Thats what my friends call you. So the advice that we had for him was that something is wrong with this situation. I mean there is a reason a girl as pretty as her is not with someone. Turns out… this girl is psycho… and she admits it. She told him that she has about seven personalities… now the part that effects me is that she has involved me in this… as i have NEVER spoken to her, i have never looked at her. I was making tea one day in our breakroom and she was sitting there flirting with some other guy (ive seen her trying to get with about three other guys) and she told my co worker that I was listening to her convo… i wasnt even aware she was there… as my life does not revolve around her. It basicly seems like she told him that I was there eavesdropping because she didnt want me telling him that I saw her flirting with another guy. She tried to put me down so if i was to tell him ne thing he wouldnt believe me. Now I dont really care about what happens between them. I am just very uncomfortable if i am around her which I may have to be at times as I am a lead and during certain times I have to make sure the reps are doing their job.
Any advice… why would she act like this… what shoud i do… i mean i feel really bad for being accused of listening to her convo…
"I mean there is a reason a girl as pretty as her is not with someone"
makes no sense! There are many pretty girls that are single.
Im referring to as in american society... girls her age that are americanized (shes spanish) usually want to have casual relationships... u know what I mean... I wasn't the only one who said that...
The things are not as bad as you are thinking , ignore it all at this stage , you said your life does not revolve around her then why you are giving it so importance to what a psycho said. Shrug it off at this point of time.
Come on you are lead. So act like one. Call her up to your office and talk to her. Like adults. Running away is not the solution. If not in office than just arrange a meeting or may be lunch.
I dont think any sort of confrontation is a good idea. If you are in management, you have to set the example that office gossip is not to be given any more importance than tiolet paper. I have never seen my superiors give any sort of credibility to rumors or ideas floating around the floor. No way.
If this was a friend situation, totally different strategy But this is your workplace and professionalism demands you stay away from it and prove its beneath you to validate or deny rumors and gossip.
Bottom line: Put on a 100 watt smile and pretend like nothing happened...keep your friends close and your enemies even closer.
