i just got the new sony psp. is the memory card encrypted? meaning u cannot add games or mp3s and load em up and play em?

Not the memory card, I think it's the firm that doesn't lets you do that. I have seen some hacks over the internet that helps to hack the PSP to install and watch whatever you want.

no, its not encrypted. I have copied few mp3 and videos and psp plays them fine, havn't tried with the games though.

so there is no encryption. I was playing GTA and it automaticaly upgraded my firm to 2.X something ....I found some hacks like eLOAD and Homebrew that let u install games etc... did anyone try to do this yet? Would u load the games off memory or UMD disc?

someone gave me some ps2 games that he bought from pakistan. I can't play 'em here on my ps2. I guess this needs some hacking too, that is, if these games are pirated.

on PS2 the mod i think is chip based..

yea ps2 is old mod based...but this one is all done through software upgrades etc..

Well, the version below 2 probably 1.5 was able to run without any hacking stuff, games like mario bros etc etc, so thats why they are called downgraders. Btw, whats your opnion about GTA??? I have bought two games, Burnout Legends and Ridge Racer. Burnout legend is superb a must buy if you havn't already and Ridge Racer is a waste of time and money good for nothing sh!tgame.

give them to me :D… u need to have a chip installed in ur ps2 in order to play Pakistani ps2 games…becuz they are copied, they arent original… i can play those cds in my ps2 cuz i got the chip thats requird to play them. The chip is oftenly known as the ‘mod chip’. And if u are in toronto…u can go to china town and get that installed in 60 -70 bucks and can enjoy all the burned ps2 games…

You can run home brew games off the memory sticks without problem. The firmware needs to be 1.50 or lower to run these games.

u hav to install a chip in ur ps2 to make it play NTSC format games and it will cost you roughly 40£ .
