Re: PSL Match 2 - Qalanders V Kings
I think Sarfraz put Islamabad in, because he thought that batting second, dew would help, as due to dew, blowers would not be able to bowl as effectively. Runs would be easy to get too, as fielders would find difficulty in taking catches, and also stopping the bowl (all because ball getting wet due to dew).
But that was when game was getting played in evening. Karachi-Islamabad game started at 9 PM (Dubai time).
But today, Karachi vs Lahore game started at 3 PM, so dew factor was not there when Karachi played, still they made 132 in less than 15.2 overs and at the rate they were making runs, they could easily have reached 180 to 200 in full 20 over.
I agree that for 200 runs, team needs batsmen with good averages and strike rate, but considering Pakistani batsmen with pathetic averages and Strike rate, 200 runs is difficult to make. Nevertheless, even with batsmen playing in this tournament, to get 150 runs should not be so difficult.
Just imagine, we have 4 fifties in last 3 games till now, and all 50s were made by overseas batsmen (2 from BD). As for Pakistani batsmen, none played any remarkable innings. These are 50s in last 3 games:
Wright (Eng): 86 runs in 53 balls … SR: 162
Simmons (WI): 62 runs in 46 balls … SR: 135
Shakib (BD): 51 runs in 35 balls … SR: 146
Tamim (BD): 51 runs in 51 balls … SR: 100
Looking at their SR (and SR of other overseas players), one can easily assume that 150 runs is not big score on this pitch.
Tomorrow (6 Feb) is Quetta Vs Karachi. Let see who wins. My feeling is that, Quetta would win.
