Re: Proud

Don’t people learn with two things?

Pain when they’re doing wrong
and Pleasure when we’re doing right.

So they’re supposed to hurt until they learn to drop the attitude.

Re: Proud

You did reach the heart of the problem, in some societies bullies, ghundas, aggressive people are rewarded tremendously so many will copy that behavior. I find here good manners and etiquettes take you to the top so many will do that. My psychologist told me that people will never repeat a behavior that is not rewarded.

Re: Proud

I will give you the western perspective, every one has a right to good reputation and slander and defamation can have serious legal consequences, also we encourage people to set boundaries and make sure people know not to cross those boundaries. We don’t encourage people to be door mats. We teach people the difference between, assertive, aggressive and passive.

Re: Proud

What exactly should he do in this situation ?

Re: Proud

I doubt we are born with ego or arrogance. Its the way we are brought up that matters . I strongly believe and have experienced myself in how i was raised and now in raising of my son , that as humans we tend to get influenced with virtues and vices , if they are encouraged or discouraged at the right time , they can turn us into a person we become when we grow.

Re: Proud

You should have a serious talk with them and stop doing it. One Pakistani lady sent a lawyers note to a lady who was spreading rumours of an affair about her.
