Assalam o Alaikum
Following is the bayann of a famous aalim of pakistan moulana hakeem akhtar sahib on the issue of lowering of gaze…i am posting this particular bayan after the discussions on the reviving over gheerah thread particularly mmentioned the lowering of gaze issue..
The topic of the bayan was
FOUR ACTIONS THAT ACQUIRE FRIERNDSHIP OH ALLAH TA"AALAH
I am only posting the portion of bayan related to lowering of gaze…
In this time and age there is greater neglect in this regard. Many people do not even regard the casting of lustful glance as a sin where as ALLAH TA’ALLAH has clearly stated in quran
say, (o nabi :saw: ) to the belivers that they should lower their gaze
this refers to not to look at non mehrams…
The protection of gaze is so important aspect that ALLAH TA’ALLAH has separately orderd women to also guard their gaze.
- and say to the believing women that they should lower thier gaze *
This aspect is unlike the command of salah, fasting and other ahkams where women are not given any separate command.IN a narration of bukhari shareef it is reported that rasullah :saw: said - CAstinng of lustful glances is fornication of eyes*
One who cast lustful glances and is indulged in fornication can not even dream of becoming wali of ALLAH TA’ALA . In another narration it is sID THAT
*mAY THE CURSE OF allah ta’ala be upoun the one who cast lustful glances as well as the one who emerges in such a manner that lustful glances are casted at him *
Those who fears the curse of pious people and saints should fear the curse of rasullah :saw: since piety is acquired in becoming the true slaves of rasullah :saw: . Therefore if an accidental glaze falls upoun a namehram shift the gaze immediately. Do not alow the gaze to fix on the face for one more moment
It is clearly understood from the ayahs and ahadith that ones who do not observe lustfull glances are given following three titles

1-Disobedient of ALLAH TA’aLA and his rasul :saw:
2-Fornicator of eyes.
3-Accursed
**
If one is addressed with nay of the titles, one will be extremly hurt and displeased , thus if one woshes to be safe from these titles given in ahadith and ayahs then one should lower his gaze.
In hadith e qudsi it is stated that
VErily the evil glance is a poisonous arrow from the arrow of shaitan . the one who will forsake casting an evil glance out of my fear, i will give him in return such eeman the swetness of which he will tast in his heart *
In other words he will physically acquire the swetness of emman which will be present in his heart. This ois not some world of fanstasy or imagination , it is revelation of ALLAH AT’ALA and HE ahs not instructed us to merely imagine that the swetness of imaan has eneterd his heart, rather has declared by using the word * ** YAjido**which means that u will physically experiance the taste of imaan and find it present in your heart.
Dear friends ! practice this and u will experiance the swetness of imaan in ur heart
ALLAMA QUsahari wites that ALLAH TA"ALA has taken away the pleasures of eyes but have given non-persihable swetness of imaan
NOTE:
IF you find any thing against the quran and sunnah ..then it is due to the errors of translation by me…i also have tried to shorten the bayan…so the effectivness of bayan may have reduced…anyway
