What kind of addictions, I suppose you are talking about alcohol, drugs , smoking etc. In my opinion it is very remote chance that a married man can get hooked to something like it.
But if it comes with the package then there is little a wife can do. Like there was a thread by a sister here who did not know that her husband drinks before she got married, or so many of my friends who smoke but cannot quit. They tell me that their wives and their kids have pleaded them to quit smoking and they have tried many a times but they could not quit
