Re: Pros and Cons of marrying a lady doctor.
Ok, I have a close family friend, someone I have grown up with, she is a pediatrician..her husband is in IT. They got married while she was doing her undergrad, an arranged marriage. The girls parents were honest and upfront about their daughter wanting to continue on to med school. The guys family did not object. They got married and she differed med school for 1 year. She got accepted to a school out of town and they lived apart, with him traveling to be with her on weekends. When it came time for residency, she “matched” in the same city he was, and they were together, even with her odd hours, she got pregnant with their first child. Both sets of grandparents pitched in to help out. They have now been married 14 years, have 2 kids and she is established in private practice. She earns more than he does, but from what she tells me, they are equal decision makers and partners.
