We put so much on credit just to afford ourselves a certain lifestyle…but is it worth it in the end?
Re: Pros and Cons of having a credit card
of course, having an M3 on your drive is soooo worth it.
PS. I’m finding you entries here of late very bleh, bleh, bleh. Snap out if it. ![]()
Re: Pros and Cons of having a credit card
Honestly if you keep a good record and submit your payments on time, there should be no problem. But if you don't make payments on time, then it could be one huge problem in the end. I think one should consider that swiping your credit card for something you have just bought, must be worth something. I mean zindagi ka kuch nahie pata. Kuch bi ho sakta hai. You may loose your job and are unable to pay back what you have loaned. I hope I make sense and you understant what am trying to say. :(
Re: Pros and Cons of having a credit card
Pro’s.
It is a handy way of spending money, debit cards have been very good for internet shopping and also it saves me carrying a dangerous wad of cash about the town… I have spent too much time in the wrong sort of company… ![]()
It is technically possible to use a debit/credit card as proof of ID or at least proof of Adress. In UK you can purshase anything from a Number plate to a Licensed firearm merely becuase your Credit/Debit card is a handy ID source.![]()
It is a formidable improvised weapon many a friend was jailed for going mad and permanently damaging several would be attackers using nothing more than a humble credit card:faris:… actually in the UK the credit cards are a bit flimsy an Am-Ex though is perfect if you want to go Kilji on some thugs… that’ll teach em. Just beware it will end up causing a lot of trouble for you unless you can play some sort of diplomatic immunity card… ![]()
Con’s
Its a real nuisance when someone else gets hold of it…
It’s easy to loose and easy to be left behind at the shops… It might not be so easy to filch… but it can still be copied or eaten up by the ATM… ![]()
It does not last forever… eventually you need to renew it…
Not every country or every shop for that matter will accept your card… ![]()
Depending on the scenario your credit card details are very easy to steal online…
Easy to lose track of your spending… ![]()
At the end of the day it’s very usefull thats undeniable but I can live without mine… if I had to, just like most folks I should presume. ![]()
Re: Pros and Cons of having a credit card
LOL…your comment made me laugh so hard! Yessir!
Re: Pros and Cons of having a credit card
I actually never really wanted to have a credit card because I'm scared of debts and loans (so many north americans are in debt) so I only used my debit, but I had to get one for building a credit for myself so if in the future i want to buy a house/car or they need to check my credit for any purpose.
Now I have it and I use it for everything because it's easier, though I don't think it's a good thing to have. We end up spending money that we don't have on things we can't really afford. I guess thats the whole system behind credit cards anyways, they want us to spend more then we own and then when we're unable to pay it back, there is interest.
Not a fan of credit cards!
Re: Pros and Cons of having a credit card
I only ever use mine for when i get a little short on money before payday, treat myself to something nice, or for buying tickets (so that i'm protected by insurance)
i have it set so that the whole balance is paid off a month after the initial transaction which stops debt building up and keeps me more focused on what i'm spending.
Re: Pros and Cons of having a credit card
for buying tickets (so that i'm protected by insurance)
This is one of the main benefits of paying by credit card, if you have any problems with your purchase and the company refuses to refund/replace you can always do a 'charge back'. I always book holidays on credit card too, there was a phase in the uk when many travel companies were going bust and people were left with no holiday and no money back. A debit card will not protect you and it will take a long time to recoup any losses.
Re: Pros and Cons of having a credit card
Pros - insurance, credit rating...rah rah rah
Cons - forget the pin number so you can only use it online and as if by magic you can even buy shoes instead of just paying for tickets. Damn credit card!

Re: Pros and Cons of having a credit card
I buy everything on my credit card, but within my budget. I pay it all off by the end of the month. I am doing it for credit history.

OMG LOLZ LOLLERS ROFLLLLLL
Shut Up
Re: Pros and Cons of having a credit card
I use mine because it's convenient. I don't want to carry around cash and if I were to use my debit card instead, I'd have to pay a lot in bank fees. The other reason I use credit cards is to have a chance to pay for some big purchases over the period of a few months instead of after one month.
Re: Pros and Cons of having a credit card
Pros: @$$ does not look fat due too stuffed $s in wallet
Cons: too many to list...
Re: Pros and Cons of having a credit card
Pros: I don't have a credit card therefore no extra spending.
Cons: I don't have a credit card therefore so spending at all.
sigh
Re: Pros and Cons of having a credit card
If a credit card is used responsibly, there are no cons. Credit cards should not be used to collect debt, one should only spend what they have regardless of the form of payment. I never understand how people collect debt on credit cards anyways, don't they budget?
