Dear Admins of Gupshup,
It’s high time that the readership and the volume of interactors use their
opinions and ideas for taking community-service/political action. I propose
a new forum just for this purpose: Political Action/Community-Service Forum.
The forum would serve as a hub of opinions, ideas and plans for community-service and political action for Muslim communities across the US
and rest of the world – wherever Gupppies hail from. In the past, the General
forum has seen requests for complaints/email protesting violation of Muslim civil
liberties to calls for help in the earthquake hit areas of Pakistan. A dedicated
forum will provide a focal point for this community to share information on
upcoming community-service and political events in their areas. Also, such
a forum will eliminate loss of great ideas and threads. For example, recently,
a guppie/guppan proposed an idea for a voter-registration drive in local
mosques which I think was absolutely brilliant but unfortunately got lost in
the ocean of threads and posts.
I believe that members of this community and Gupshup readership stand to
gain much from this forum.
