proposal for new section on gushup!

Oks we’re all so spread out and often we don’t know who and what is going on in our own nieghborhoods!!?

A lot of us live alone and were miserable during Ramadan and Eid.

I propose a new section .. maybe call it community board or something clever in urdu..

basically have it divided by country , then states/regions, and cities

then if you know of something going on in your area or went to something cool and wanna share this would be the place to do so..

This way these sort of announcements will not get lost in the other sections or flood the ones that already exist!

If you want to share the community events, then a better alternative is to send it to a moderator, and they will add it to GUPSHUP Calendar. I don't know if you have checked out the Calendar feature. Its right there on the top 'cal'

Faisal you're right.. that calander is so cool!
I never even saw it before..and it appears no one else has either!

only one problem..it lacks ..well not right now cause no one appears to have used it ever..

but lets say eventually we got people posting happenings up there..

now we dunno who's also interested in going.. maybe someone needs further info or directions etc..

if we had a seperate section that maybe linked off of the main announcements on each day of the calender... we could post follow ups and further info there.. those who want to go but want to meet up or whatever can express their ideas concerns there..

also having a scrolling thingy on top that showed you what events are happeniing in your local area each time you logged in would be nice

I know it's gonna take time to catch on..it's not gonna happen over night.. but I think it'll really make things more fun for everyone!

and i got some info on new stuff coming up already ! as soon as you guys help me figure out where best to post it i will

Faisal agains thanks so very much ..it looks like you guys already have a pretty good set up going here.. it's unfortunate nobody ever bothers to use it!?

still i think something indicating up coming events in your area .

in fact maybe it can flash and say 'events calender ' instead of just 'cal' every time a post new to you or any type of modification has been made?! i dunno..

..plus maybe the option to post replies to the event posting would be nice!

That way people can make arrangements for a ride or directions.
Plus follow up posts would allow organizers to get feedback on what went right or wrong!

Wells if not anything else I hope this thread brings it to attention and I can get everyone else to post there regularly as well.
