Bro,
Good explanation, however, don’t you think I may have done these walkthroughs before bring this up with you? Sidrah not only represents a tree linguistically, but also something that DAZZLES/ASTONISHES. So Sidra(t) al-Muntaha could easily represent the final level of human understanding at which one can see a glimpse of paradise (a higher plane of existence). It is ALL spiritual.
And as far as Jahannam and Zaquum are concerned, Gai Hinnom is a valley mentioned by name in the Torah, as located very close to Jerusalem. It is where criminals were burnt (sound familiar?) and there a thorny fruit used to grow with a similar name. Again, hell and fire are used in the Qur’an symbolically to represent chaos and punishment.
hypnotix, since you're having discussion with aramis09, she believe heaven to be physical place. It's better if you explain her with your knowledge about heaven to be physical or spiritual, that'll be nice. What do you think hypnotix?. is heaven/hell physical or spiritual place?..

What I have so far understood is that things such as Paradise and Hell have been expressed in allegorical terms in the Qur'an. As such, I feel that I (and any other human being) am incapable to fully understand what these things really mean in our current form/state, let alone categorize them.
