This topic will not attract a lot of responses unlike the Shivling thread, you know why.
Anyways, I do not know much about the topic, so I'll refrain instead of googling it out.
You know there's a very simple answer to this that it is very likely the ruling about Iddah were not revealed when this marriage was done.
It's a known fact that Muslims in the beginning used to drink alcohol and gamble, and women didn't wear hijab in the beginning.
Because these rulings were not commanded at that time. After the ruling came, everyone followed from that point on and were not held accountable for the past. So you would need to look up the time of revelation of these Ayaat.
This marriage took place after Badr, which occurred sometime in the 2nd Hijri year. And most Ayaat with regards to rulings were revealed after Hijrah.
TG is referring to the marriage of the Prophet sallalahualaihiwasallam with Safiya after Badr when her husband was killed.
TG, are you getting your arguments from answering-islam.org or these genuine arguments that you thought of???
tommy gun let me tell you that Hazrat Muhammad :saw: married more than four women . it was not because he was a man . it was for the goodwill and properity of islam . when he married Hazrat Ayesha she was very young keeping in mind that she will be able to further teach the islamic ways and sunnah for longer time than other Umhat-ul-Momeneen.
certain other reasons were there for having more than four wives.
The link below is in audio format, gives an indepth explanation about Prophets Marriages, the time, and the Allaah’s will behind every marriage.
Dr. Jamal Badawi, is questioned this long time conpiracy in limited words, but maximum explanation.
It explains Prophets marriages were an example, for Muslims and ofcourse he is the Best for us to follow.
