Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

was he considered a perfect person?

can you please elaborate what do you mean by considered ?? I mean he is a perfect personality.. only he will be praying for us on judgement day if you believe on that..

Quran: Ay imaan walo! ALLAH aur Uske rasool ki ataat karo aur rasool ke hukam ko sun lene ke baad is se sartabi(baghawat) na karo.. (Reference: Surat-ul-Anfaal, verse # 20)..

So if anyone denies or denied Prophet's supremacy which is given/gifted by God.. He/She is in a great trouble..

what I mean is.. I have heard some people say that he is the perfect person. Is this true or not?

because, after all , he is human, and humans are flawed.. so if he was perfect, is he an exception because he is a prophet etc ?

Ok I understand now.. Jee he is perfect because he was chosen from the beginning.. and for more, he was continously advised by ALLAH through Wahhih.. though he was already very soft spoken and gentle from the start.. and very wise and calm.. he was very famous for his honesty as well (Sadiq aur Amin)..

this is why we’re told to follow Uswaye Hasanah.. which means, we do what Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) did..

Here's a hadith:

Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "I have been sent to perfect good character."

We are to follow his example because he was guided by God but no one is perfect except God. No prophets or companions of prophets ever made such claims and actually would ask forgiveness of allah each day and night for any transgressions.

So this question of whether he was perfect is not only deep but also depends upon your definition of perfection.
Ofcourse scholars can answer it better.

But from the very basic & limited knowledge let me try to say few things.
First you have to understand the times when Prophet Muhammad (Salla-lah-o-alaihe wasallam) was born. The times where not only tribes used to fight for petty thing but even among themselves they used to not trust each other at all.
And right before the young age Prophet emerged as the person of integrity so much so that everyone started believing on regardless. Hence he was called the truthful (Sadiq) and the keeper (Ameen). His these noble acts made him so much popular that at the age of 25 he was proposed by a 40 year influential & rich widow Khadeeja. And these are the traits which also helped him when he called for the first time after the bestow of Prophecy, everyone gathered to listen to him. Remember, not to listen to prophet Muhammad but the young Sadiq & Ameen Muhammad.
And how moderately tempered he was. Always used to speak in soft tone and the most angry if he ever got,his reaction was just a red face. But no tough words to anyone.

And then also how that era was when the girls were born they were hated so much that a lot of babies were buried alive after being identified as the girl. Prophet was the one who took initiative to give proper respect to girls and women.

Now lets talk about all the adversaries he faced after he announced prophecy and invited people to the path of believers. The woman who used to throw trash at him from upstairs when he was walking towards masjid, every single day. And he didnt say a single word back. One day when she didnt show up, guess who paid visit to her to find that she was actually sick?

And then when he visited city of Taef only to be greeted with stones to run him away. And his response was only praying that O Allah forgive them as they dont know. Same when he entered Makkah after conquering it, forgiving everyone.

The love that he showed to children, and the respect he gave to women in the darkest era.

And the life of simplicity he lead. The lessons of being down to earth and not being arrogant that he displayed himself as well.

Remember with these many followers by the end of his life he could live like a king.

so I would say ask someone who has read the "seerah" that is life of Prophet OR you read it yourself to know more and then decide if it fits in your definition of Perfection. Actually its something we all should do.
Hope that helps.

Perfect, impeccable, flawless.... are Angels. Below are couple of verses hope you find an answer to what you are looking for.

**3.144 - And Muhammad is not except a messenger; messengers have already passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, you turn back on your heels? And whoever turns back on his heels, he will not harm Allah a thing; and Allah will reward the grateful

41.6 - Say: I am only a human like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is One God, so straighten up to Him and seek His forgiveness. And woe to the polytheists.

66.1 - O prophet! Why do you prohibit that which Allah has made lawful for you; seeking the pleasure your wives? And Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. **

The question isnt whether he was a human or no. Ofcourse we all believe he was but consider his character and integrity and how ALLAH has mentioned Rasool (Peace be upon him) again and again. For example, the verse “Ati-ullah wa Ati-ur-Rasool”. I mean which random dude would ALLAH ask everyone to obey in the same line as himself. Whether perfect or no, he was indeed the best among humanity.

It depends on how much you know and how close you are to the qualities of the Prophet SallAllaahu alaihi wa alihi wa sallam. It should be known that the Prophet SallAllaahu Alaihi wa alihi wa sallam is known to be better then the angels, he is actually best of Creation. How good is Allaah's creation and then how good is His best? Is he perfect and flawless?

There is a number of underlying issues we can start this topic with. So many that it's hard to choose which one. Firstly there seems to be a hesitancy to attribute perfection, I take it this is a fear with regards to tawheed.

In sahih Al bukhari:

**Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Many amongst men attained perfection but amongst women none attained the perfection except Mary, the daughter of Imran and Asiya, the wife of Pharaoh. And the superiority ofAisha to other women is like the superiority of Tharid (i.e. an Arabic dish) to other meals."**

Its OK to attribute a perfection to creation. Its not a comparison with Allah but a comparison with creation hence our Prophet SallAllaahu alaihi wa alihi wa sallam is most fitting for it
