When I was young I read the story of Prophet Joseph PBUH and how one day when Zelikah tried to seduce him she drew the curtain infront of her idol and when he asked her why she did that she said “I’m shy to sin before my Lord” to which Prophet Joseph PBUH is reported to have said something roughly along the lines of…
“The eyes of your ilah/eloh (god) can be covered with a piece of cloth, but the eyes of my Lord Allaah/Elohim (God) cannot be covered for He is All-Seeing/All-Knowing…”
I thought this incident was quite beautiful but I can’t find a reference for it from our Scriptures, all I found was the following quote from the Bible…
“Thou art afraid of an idol; shall I not fear YaHoVaH, who sees all things?”
Can someone find a reference for me?
